BlackRidge Presents Zero Trust Approach to Smart Cities at Cybertech Tokyo 2019

by Mike Miracle, SVP marketing and strategy

Cybertech Tokyo This week BlackRidge is exhibiting and speaking at Cybertech Tokyo 2019, Nov. 26-27. Cybertech Tokyo is the most significant conference and exhibition in Japan focused on cyber technologies and innovation. Last year’s Cybertech conference was a coming out party for us in Japan when we announced our expanding presence there through partnerships with I-Net and TOYO Corporation, who added BlackRidge’s suite of cybersecurity solutions to their cloud, data center, manufacturing and IoT offerings.

Earlier year we announced new major new partnership with NTT AT and NEC, to continue our growth and long-term commitment to the Japanese market and to enter the Singapore market:

As stated by Vivian Tay, Senior Vice President, NEC Asia Pacific, “BlackRidge Technology’s approach to zero-trust through enforcement of identity across network boundaries is ideally suited for various Smart City applications, including the protection of critical infrastructure such as CCTV networks equipped with advanced video analytics.”

At Cybertech Tokyo 2019, Bill Joll, our head of worldwide sales, will speak during the plenary session on Tuesday at 14:00 PM on "Zero Trust Model Considerations for Smart Cities."  The presentation will provide an overview of the architecture and elements within Smart Cities, the cyber threats faced by them, and a zero trust security approach to protect the evolution of Smart Cities.

Zero Trust for Smart CitiesSmart Cities projects continue to gain momentum given the need to address our aging infrastructure while enhancing the quality of life for both residents and visitors. New IoT and next generation network technologies like 5G enable smart parking, better traffic and mass transit control, intelligent lighting, and crime prevention. At the same time, city governments are increasingly under cyber-attack with significant consequences in terms of costs and loss of services and revenue.

If you are attending Cybertech Tokyo this week, stop by our booth and say hello to Bill Joll and Rolf Lumpe who heads our local team, and learn how BlackRidge enables our customers and partners to deliver more secure and resilient business services in today’s rapidly evolving cyber threat environments. Our zero trust approach to cyber defense uses identity to authenticate network connections and enforces identity across networks, to proactively stop cyber-attacks and protect your cloud services, servers and IoT devices.
